Students enrolled in National Service Training Program (NSTP) 2, along with the Section Coordinator, Mr. Jamesrussell Husain, and their facilitators conducted a Coastal Clean-up Activity last May 20 & 27, 2023, at Sitio Tapon, Brgy. Cawag, Peñaplata, the adopted community of Samal Island City College (SICC).

The said activity was done in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), headed by Atty. Iryshell Villegas and the Brgy. Cawag, led by Barangay Captain Emely Sotto, with the approval and support of our very own College President, Dr. Jose Ersante Fuertes. This benevolent initiative was undertaken to preserve and restore the cleanliness of coastal areas and convey the institution’s concern for environmental protection.

Cawag. We look forward to conducting more of these environmental initiatives to protect and restore the beauty of our Island’s nature.

The Coastal Clean-up Activity aimed not only to preserve but also to restore the cleanliness of our precious coastal areas, while simultaneously conveying the institution’s deep-seated concern for environmental protection. The concerted efforts of the SICC Community and the NSTP Section were fueled by the shared vision of safeguarding the natural beauty of our beloved island.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate conducting more of these impactful environmental initiatives, as we strive to protect and restore the unparalleled beauty of our island’s nature. Together, let us continue to make a lasting difference for future generations.
